Most Literate Cities
For the second year in a row, Washington, D.C., tops an annual list of America’s most literate cities. The four highest ranked cities, which also include Seattle, Minneapolis and Atlanta, are the same as the last study. The Central Connecticut State University study was based on six indicators: literacy, newspaper circulation, number of bookstores, library resources, periodical publishing resources, educational attainment, and Internet resources. America’s Most Literate Cities in 2011:
