Veteran’s Day 2011 Freebies / Deals For Military Members


In honor of Veteran’s Day 2011 on 11/11/11, many restaurants, stores, parks and other establishments are offering free offers and deals to military veterans, retirees and active-duty service people. Most offers require proof of service, such as military ID. Here are just a few:

  • Applebee’s is offering a free meal on Friday, with seven mouthwatering entrees to choose from. Last year, the restaurants served 1,024,000 free meals to active service members and military veterans.
  • Chili’s is serving up one of six meals for past and present veterans on November 11th.
  • Visit 7-Eleven on November 11th for a free Slurpee from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • The 10th annual Golden Corral Military Appreciation dinner happens on Monday, November 14th, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. It is for anyone who ever served in the U.S. Military. Over 2.5 million free meals have been served to veterans at Golden Corral.
  • Today through November 11th, veterans enjoy a 19.43% discount on non-alcoholic beverages and food at Uno Chicago Grills. The percentage off is a nod to the year the company was founded - 1943.
  • Outback Steakhouse is offering a week of free Cokes and Bloomin’ Onions for military veterans and active-duty service members today through Friday.
  • With a regular drink purchase at participating Hooters, veterans can score 10 free boneless or regular wings on November 11th.
  • Visit a participating T.G.I. Friday’s on November 11th for buy one, get one free meals with proof of service.
  • Home Depot and Lowe’s offer a 10% military discount every day. At Home Depot, the 10% discount on Veteran’s Day is for reservists, active duty personnel, retired military, veterans and their families.
  • Several major parks are offering free admissions for Veteran’s Day 2011. Anheuser-Busch parks offer active-duty service members free admission with up to three dependents once a year including Sesame Place, SeaWorld and Busch Gardens parks.
  • For the third year, B&B for Vets is offering veterans a free night’s stay on November 10th at more than 485 participating B&Bs across the United States and Canada. To find out more, visit B&B for Vets; space is limited.
  • Over 36,000 free Hugo canes will be distributed at Sam’s Club locations across the nation on November 9th, 10th and 11th to veterans in need of mobility assistance.   • Download a free MP3 album now through Veteran’s Day at Amazon.com. The album, “Veterans Day Honor,” includes 12 songs performed by military bands and ensembles.
  • Save even more at Dollar General on Veteran’s Day with a 10% discount to active-duty military, veterans and retirees.
