You can now earn swag by watching TV. There’s an app for that called Viggle – and it’s designed to reward those who watch the tube to get stuff they might want. The software is designed for Apple’s iPhone and iPad. It “listens” to what you’re watching, recognizes what show it is, then issues credits at the rate of about two points per minute. It also works with shows you’ve saved on your DVR. If you get 7,500 points, you can score a $5 gift card from a variety of retailers, like Starbucks, Best Buy and CVS. You can even redeem the credits directly from your device. You can also get bonus points for watching certain shows and a 1,500-point credit to sign up. Versions of Viggle are also in the pipeline for Android devices as well as for computers.
