Burger
King, which offers delivery service in several international markets,
plans to test the service at a handful of Washington, D.C.-based
restaurants in an effort to boost sales. Deliveries will cost $2,
require a minimum order of between $8 and $10 and won’t include
beverages or breakfast items, said the company, which declined to
comment on whether it plans to roll out the service nationally. Burger
King already has successful delivery programs around the world,
including in Mexico, Turkey, Brazil, Columbia and Peru, a spokeswoman
said.
