Oldest, Largest American-Owned Brewery Is…

D.G. Yuengling and Son is now the largest U.S.-owned brewer that makes all of its beer in America. Both Anheuser-Busch and MillerCoors are now foreign-owned, and Yuengling has now passed Sam Adams maker Boston Beer Co., according to new estimates from Beer Marketer’s Insights. Headquartered in Pottsville, Pennsylvania, Yuengling, which has been around for 180 years, is now 8th in U.S. market share with 2.5 million barrels, up 16.9% from last year. Yuengling beer is shipped to 14 states. It has been family owned and operated since 1829 and includes two breweries in the Pottsville area and one in Tampa.
